William Enk Receives FAA Awards at AMTSociety Education/IA Refresher Event

AMTSociety has long supported a variety of industry awards. The most important of these awards is the Charles Taylor Master Mechanic Award given by the Federal Aviation Administration for those aircraft mechanics having served our industry for 50 years.

On October 8th while attending the AMTSociety Education/IA Refresher Training Event, William A. Enk of Blue Springs, MO, was presented both the Charles Taylor Master Mechanic Award and the Wright Brothers Master Pilot Award for his Fifty Years of Dedicated Service in Aviation Safety.

With more than 120 attendees in the audience to congratulate Bill, Alan Stephens, Associate Division Manager for the FAA Flight Standards District Office’s Central Region, read Bill’s impressive resume. Bill received his FAA Airframe and Powerplant Mechanic certificate in 1963 and has been actively involved in both aircraft maintenance and flying ever since. Bill accomplished his first solo flight in a Piper J-3 Cub on his 16th birthday and holds his Airline Transport Pilot certificate with more than 10,000 hours of flying. Congratulations Bill!
