The AMTSociety Education/IA Refresher Events are off to a strong start. Positive feedback has been received from both attendees and exhibitors.

AMTSociety Roadshow Series

The AMTSociety Education/IA Refresher Events are off to a great start. Positive feedback has been received from both attendees and exhibitors. Gary Brossett, longtime AMTSociety member from Georgia, said: "Ron, I want to say that yesterday’s event was the best I’ve attended. Many of the attendees had similar comments. This was my fifth year attending the Atlanta Roadshow. You and Jill did a fantastic job hosting the event." More seminars are scheduled at the following locations:

  • February 12, 2014, Kansas City, MO, Holiday Inn, Kansas City Expo Center
  • March 5, 2014, Aurora, CO, Summit Conference Center
  • March 25 and 26, 2014, Las Vegas, NV, during AviationPros LIVE at the Sands Expo and Convention Center
  • April 5, 2014, San Antonio, TX,  during the Aviation Technician Education Council (ATEC) Conference at the Menger Hotel

In a few months we will begin looking at locations, speakers, and topics for the 2014/2015 series of events. We can’t cover all locations or all subjects but I am interested to hear what subjects and topics are important to you. Send me an email with your suggestions at [email protected].

AMTSociety education events open to members of other organizations

AMTSociety shares the common mission to promote and support the profession of aircraft maintenance with several other professional organizations. Educational offerings are one of the ways in which many groups fulfill this mission. Because of this common mission I felt it important to offer Association for Women in Aviation Maintenance (AWAM), Professional Aviation Maintenance Association (PAMA), and Aeronautical Repair Station Association (ARSA) members in good standing the ability to attend AMTSociety education events through April 2014 without being an AMTSociety member. Additionally, I have extended this offer to ATEC members attending the 2014 ATEC Conference. Regular registration fees still apply. Members of these organizations interested in attending should contact Jill Burnett directly to register, [email protected].

Aerospace Maintenance Competition in 2014

AMTSociety is proud to lend its support to the Aerospace Maintenance Competition, presented by the Aerospace Maintenance Association in 2014. Similar to years past, the Aerospace Maintenance Competition is a friendly competition of aviation students and working professionals testing their skills against one another.

The competition is being managed by the Honorable John Goglia, former NTSB member and staunch advocate for the aircraft maintenance technician, and will be held March 25 and 26, 2014 at the Sands Convention Center in Las Vegas, NV. For information on the AMC and to register your team visit: http://aerospacemaintenancecompetition.com/general-information/venue-information.

AMTSociety continues ATEC relationship

AMTSociety Executive Director Ronald Donner has been unanimously selected by the Aviation Technician Education Council (ATEC) board of directors as an industry board member. AMTSociety and ATEC have enjoyed a long relationship over the years and the board appointment further strengthens this relationship. AMTSociety will be participating in the 2014 ATEC Conference and will provide one of the AMTSociety education and Inspection Authorization refresher events on Saturday, April 5.
