WEST CHICAGO, IL – With a polished new look and enticing menu, DuPage Airport’s Kitty Hawk Café is once again open for business. The recent facelift is part of DuPage’s $4.2 million Flight Center renovation to deliver vital new safety features and added convenience to the West Chicago general aviation facility.

The perfect destination to relax before, after, or between flights, the new Kitty Hawk features a modern, inviting setting, comfortable banquette seating and floor-to-ceiling windows offering picturesque views of the airfield. The restaurant has introduced a new menu of fresh fare to suit any needs. Menu standouts include signature paninis like the chipotle chicken, with grilled onions, avocado, jack cheese, and chipotle aioli on jalapeno ciabatta; wraps like the angus roast beef with boursin cheese and roasted peppers on a spinach tortilla; and a selection of salads, deli sandwiches, house-made chili, and rotating specials. Busy travelers are covered with an array of snacks, and any item can be prepared to-go.

Due for completion later this month, the 63,000-square-foot Flight Center renovation includes new customer entrances, state-of-the-art crew lounges, on-site car rental, new U.S. Customs facilities, an upgraded reception and front desk area, a large meeting room for passenger and crew use, upgrades to the exercise facility and renovated bathrooms. Earlier this year, the airport completed an extension to its secondary runway, providing for significant operational flexibility. Other modernization improvements include a $9 million widening of the primary runway and a new on-site fire station.

“The new Kitty Hawk Café demonstrates our commitment to provide a sophisticated dining atmosphere that meets the needs of travelers on-the-go,” said David Bird, Executive Director of the DuPage Airport Authority. “We invite the aviation community to experience the new world-class Flight Center for themselves and see why DuPage is consistently ranked among the nation’s premiere FBO’s.”

Kitty Hawk Café is open to the public Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. For catering or carry out orders, call 630-208-6189.
