Matthew Givens has always known that he was destined to fly. He began learning to fly at 16 years old and his passion continued from there. He is an experienced airline transport pilot with more than 7,000 hours currently flying Citation 650 and 500 series aircraft. He has flight instructed since 2000 and holds a Bachelor in Science from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University in Professional Aeronautics.
Givens owns Givens Aviation, which currently consists of two locations in Kentucky. Givens Aviation offers flight training, aircraft rental, and photo flights. Students have come from as far as Oregon to learn how to fly from one of Givens Aviation’s experienced flight instructors.
Givens is also vice president of one of the most successful and fastest growing aviation companies in Kentucky and Indiana. Givens helps head Honaker Aviation, which has two Fixed Based Operations in the two states. Honaker Aviation manages everything from light aircraft to large turbo jets, and is also a full service maintenance and avionics shop.
In addition to Givens Aviation and Honaker Aviation, Givens is an entrepreneur. He owns a Printing business (www.yourprintpros.com), a Heating and Air company (www.struckhvac.com), multiple properties which he manages through his property business called Sky Homes, and an automotive magazine (www.autosuccessonline.com) that is nationwide.
Classes to Begin in Fall 2013 for Jefferson High School Students
The free event on Oct. 13-14 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day is the only air show in the United States to host three jet demonstration teams including the world-renowned U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds.
ER is sponsoring aerobatic pilot Matt Chapman, and two high-tech Embry-Riddle training aircraft, a Diamond DA-42 and a Cessna 172, will be on display.
