Construction is scheduled to begin summer 2003. This technology system is designed to serve the needs of more than 20 airlines with liquid crystal display (LCD) technology throughout the terminal complex. The LCD?multi-user flight information system will offer passenger improved clarity, more concise and real-time information, with systems integration that will benefit airport and airline personnel with an advanced, integrated operating system.

Com-Net Software Specialists installs its ECLIPSX flight information display system (FIDS) software at the Atlantic Coast Airlines hub headquarters at Dulles International Airport. ECLIPSX-Display, a Microsoft® Internet Explorer® browser-based application, is designed to allow users to customize the appearance of the user interface on the workstations, including the amount of and order in which information is displayed and the length of time information is displayed.
Bridge Technology, Inc. is launching Next-Shuttle, a turnkey wireless vehicle tracking service accessed via the Internet for public and private transit providers. Next-Shuttle allows airport shuttle companies and other transit providers to create and monitor routes on maps, assign drivers to routes, monitor time, and customize configurations based on security levels. The system uses a wireless global positioning device mounted in the vehicle, which transmits information about the position, speed, and direction of the shuttle to a centralized processing center, maintained by Bridge Technology. Data can be accessed live from any PC, laptop, or PDA via the Internet.
