Turnaround Time

October 2003
At this writing, I have just watched the passing of the second anniversary of the September 11th tragedy. Having now had time to gather perspective, it got me thinking about all that has and has not changed in the aviation industry and what that has meant for business.

Despite the financial burden and catastrophic world events the aviation industry has endured over the last two years, there is a silver lining.

We've all been forced to run our businesses smarter. Leaner head counts, multi-purpose travel, and finding ways to run more efficient operations with less are some of the strategies we've had to employ. We've changed names, acquired companies, introduced new products or product lines, and marketed to new groups of customers.

All of these things may have needed to be implemented sooner but weren't until it became a matter of livelihood. Now, in the last quarter of another trying year, we realize that the sacrifices and changes that have been pushed upon us have very likely positioned us all for more successful years ahead. I for one am looking forward to them.
