VIDEOSCOPE SYSTEM

Instrument Technology Inc. (ITI) offers its V5 videoscope system for total video remote viewing that combines high performance with a portable, user-friendly system. The system includes industrial videoscope with ITI’s patented four-way ProTecht articulation system, 10-inch high-resolution color LCD display, touch pad control panel, electronic zoom 1x, 1.5x, and 2x, and auto white balance control. The outer case has wheels and a retractable pull handle for easy transport from one site to another. It uses either external power source or its own integrated, rechargeable, battery system. For more information call (800) 561-3606 or visit www.scopes.com/V5.

PORTABLE COMPUTED RADIOGRAPHY SCANNER

The CR 50P portable computed radiography scanner from GE Inspection Technologies is light and compact enough to allow the benefits of computed radiography to be realized at remote locations in applications requiring both high throughput and high resolution. With a laser spot size of just 50 micron and with the high resolution of today’s IPS display screens, the scanner will allow computed radiography to assume more and more of the duties which have conventionally been restricted to film radiography. Weighing just 22 kilograms, it offers excellent image quality through its optimized optics and a scan resolution which can be user-variable from 50 to 130 ìm pixel pitch. Scan results can be displayed on a connected laptop or a local high resolution monitor. The output data can also be processed using Rhythm software, which has been specifically designed for NDT applications and offers advanced image review tools and data management and storage. FLEXIBLE BORESCOPE

The Lenox Fiberscope flexible borescope is designed to tackle tough inspection problems in highly inaccessible and inhospitable places. It is ideal for inspection of engines, equipment, tubing, pipes, castings, and other hard-to-access cavities. The scope allows for high-resolution inspection to identify flaws as minute as .001-inch. For efficient viewing inside complex assemblies, the Fiberscopes feature a tight bending radius and a totally steerable twoor four-way articulated tip that allows easy manipulation around corners, through pipe bends and past blockages. Diameters range from 3.5 mm (.140 inch) to 10 mm (.395 inch), with lengths to 6 m (18 feet). For more information visit www.lenoxinst.com or call (800) 356-1104.

ULTRASOUND IMAGING SYSTEM

The Acoustocam ultrasound imaging system from Imperium is a handheld ultrasound camera which generates instant images of subsurface defects. A nonspecialized user can immediately find cracks, corrosion, delaminations, and voids can be seen in real time. The images can be stored and viewed later. It offers real-time imaging of subsurface defects; an LCD on the back of the unit shows real-time video. The unit is battery powered and portable. For more information visit www.imperiuminc.com or call (301) 431-2905.

BORESCOPE

Machida’s battery-operated borescope, Model FBA-4B-100P, features an improved battery pack that can provide as much light as a regular light source. The unit is ideal for portable, quick inspections. It is easy to use and features high quality resolution. For more information visit www. machidascope.com or call (800) 431-5420.

LEAK DETECTOR

Sensistor Technologies’ leak detector Extrima is intended for leak detection using diluted hydrogen as a trace gas for use in explosive environments, where the security requirements are high. A typical application is leak detection during maintenance of aircraft fuel systems. The equipment is provided with an Auto-Ranging function, which means that it automatically tunes its sensitivity which decreases the closer it gets to the leak. Once a leak is located and the search for additional leaks continues, the sensitivity is increased without any manual adjustments being required. It is battery operated with an eight-hour capacity. For more information, call (978) 439-9200 or visit www.sensistorusa.com.

VISUAL INSPECTION ENDOSCOPE

The SFM8-1000 8 mm Flex & Stay fiberoptic visual inspection endoscope from Heine allows the technician to shape and maintain the scope for the initial visual inspection. It features angled side-view adapters that do not increase the scope’s diameter; 90- and 110-degree threaded attachments are available for additional right angle/backward direction of views. It comes in 3.5- and 12- volt versions. A 3.5-volt version battery handle generates more than 25,000 lux at a distance of 16 mm. It provides bright, white light for quick shadow-free “first look” visual inspection. There is an adjustable focusable eyepiece for the technician who wears glasses to be able to focus the image. The scope is 39 inches long to look into wing cavities, piston cylinders, and fuel systems. It provides mobile fatigue-free inspection at 50 mm. For more information call (800) 367- 4872 or visit www.heine.com.

VIDEO INSPECTION TOOL

The Mini-Vu portable video inspection system features a 7/16-inch diameter (10.7 mm) pencil-thin 10X camera and flexible gooseneck with a reach of 18 inches. The 2-inch long camera features a built-in lighting system with fully adjustable focus lens. The finger grip handle base has two sealed switches to prevent oil and moisture damage. The portable camera configuration can be plugged into a computer, TV, or Mini-Vu portable monitor. The camera system can be purchased alone or in a package which includes a storage and carrying case and video monitor. The system is also available with a 1 1/4-inch diameter camera and 30-inch gooseneck. For more information visit www.pro-fog.com or call (877) 888-5510.
