Variable Shade Auto-Darkening Helmets

Hobart Welders offers the XTV Series of lightweight, high performance auto-darkening welding helmets. The line darkens in 1/12,000 of a second after arc start and features an internally adjustable auto-darkening shade, lens sensitivity, and delay controls. In addition to a simple black design, the helmets feature two unique designs: the Blue Flame and the Avenger. The Blue Flame model features metallic blue flames outlined with a green classic pinstripe. The Avenger features 3-D silver metallic highlights outlined by a red pinstripe on a gloss black background. The designs have a 3.74- x 1.57-inch viewing area with two independent arc sensors that provide continuous arc-sensing capability. The helmets feature a solar-assisted auto-darkening lens and two easy-to-replace AAA batteries, with an exceptionally long life of 2,000 hours on MIG welding, no recharging required. The helmets are lightweight, comfortable and come with five external and two internal protective lens covers. For more information call 877-HOBART1 or visit www.HobartWelders.com.

Tig Torch

Weldcraft offers the WP-17 TIG torch with patented grip. As part of the engineering and design alignments between Weldcraft and Miller Electric Mfg. Co., Weldcraft announces that its air-cooled WP-17 TIG torch series includes the patented Diamond Grip (previously found on the Miller Diamond Back torches). To increase operator comfort, the Diamond Grip helps operators maintain a secure grip for superior torch control in all welding positions. Weldcraft’s upgraded WP-17 torch is featured on Miller’s Syncrowave 200 AC/DC TIG/stick welder to deliver professional quality welds. The ergonomic torch body helps the operator maintain the correct relationship between the torch and weld joint. The WP-17V includes a fingertip gas control valve and both torches use 10N Series consumables. For more information visit www.weldcraft.com.

145-amp Welder

Mac Tools’ 145-amp MIG welder 115v AC, MW145N, is specifically designed for MIG welding stainless steel and makes welding fast, easy, and spatter free. With a higher duty-cycle and the ability to manipulate the speed and heat, the user has greater control over the welding process. Features such as the rugged powder-coated steel cabinets with forced-air cooling enable it to have a higher duty-cycle for efficiency.

There is a four-step power control, with multiple step cam-lock rotary power switches, giving you the power to control your amperage and heat. You don’t have to worry about overload, with the illuminated thermal overload indicator and automatic reset feature. This product is gas or no-gas capable and has an infinite wire speed feed control with a direct drive DC motor. The Mac 180A direct-connect MIG gun is ergonomically designed with a 10-inch cable complete with a Euro-connect cable plug. For more information see your local Mac Tools dealer or call (800) MACTOOLS.

Face Shield and Brow Guard

ArcOne’s browguard and faceshield provides full face and eye protection against sparks, spatter, small particles, and non-hazardous liquids. Made for grinding, cutting, brazing, and machining, it features a sleek, wraparound style designed to be worn comfortably with impact resistant safety glasses. Available in polycarbonate or P.E.T.G., molded, unbound, or bound in light or dark green, clear, smoked mirror, IR 3 or IR 5. Meets ANSI Z87.1 standards. Anti-Surge Flowmeter Regulator

To eliminate costly shielding gas surges, Smith Equipment offers the Optimizer Anti-Surge flowmeter regulator. Designed for MIG and TIG welding applications, the Optimizer helps prevent gas flow surges that normally occur when a welding operator activates a MIG gun or TIG torch. It can lower gas costs by up to 50 percent and, by reducing overall gas consumption, also reduces cylinder handling. The two-stage anti-surge design provides highly accurate gas flow and constant outlet pressure to help assure welding operators achieve optimum welding performance. The Optimizer’s high-flow capacity offers a delivery range of up to 70 standard cubic feet per hour and is designed for use with either straight Argon shielding gas or an Argon/CO2 mixture. Designed with a CGA 580 inlet connection and a 5/8-inch, 18 RH internal outlet connection, the Optimizer provides maximum pressure inlet of 3,000 pounds per square inch gauge. Each regulator is backed with a three-year limited warranty. For more information visit www.smithequipment.com.

Welding Helmet

Miller Electric Mfg. Co. offers an auto-darkening welding helmet inspired by the design of the Mexican Flag. Sporting a bright green metallic finish, the helmet features bold red and white accents forming an ornamental design that scrolls around the surface. The eagle, serpent, and cactus crest is dramatically framed and highlighted on both sides. The helmet features Miller’s Auto-On and Grind Mode lens technology. The Auto-On feature eliminates the need for an on/off function. The helmet is always ready to weld, but still conserves battery life. The helmet’s #4 ultra-clear “light-state” makes setup and repositioning of hands and parts more efficient while also providing continuous UV and IR protection. Grinding Mode function keeps the helmet in the #4 light state and prevents darkening of the lens from grinding sparks and meets ANSI Z87.1 and CE/CSA impact standards. The helmet comes complete with five outside and two inside replacement cover lenses, and an exclusive fatigue-reducing comfort cushion and helmet bag. They are covered by a two-year warranty.
