Daniel Webster College site for 9th annual Aviation Expo; Massachusetts and Washington, D.C., pass their AMT Day Resolutions.

New England Aviation Expo

Daniel Webster College is the site for this year's 9th annual Aviation Expo on March 31, 2007. Sponsored by the FAA and Daniel Webster College, the program will be held at Daniel Webster's Eaton-Richmond Center from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. The college is adjacent to Boire Field (KASH), Nashua, NH.

AMT Day passes in Massachusetts, D.C.

The state of Massachusetts and Washington, D.C., have just passed their AMT Day Resolutions which now brings the list of states that have passed resolutions recognizing Charles E. Taylor and today's AMTs to 45. The AMTA would like to thank Jeevan Ramapriya who is on Senator Steven A. Baddour's staff for helping the AMTA have Senator Baddour introduce this important resolution. Senator Baddour is the chairman on Transportation for Massachusetts. AMTA would also like to thank Chairman Vincent Gray and his aid Chris Murray in recognizing the importance of Taylor and professional AMTs.

RAS technicians earn Master Technician Awards

Raytheon Aircraft Services (RAS) is pleased to announce that four RAS technicians have completed all the training requirements for the Flight Safety International Master Technician designation. In addition, two technicians from Hawker Aircraft Services have also met the requirements for this award. Christopher Muse is the first Raytheon Aircraft Services employee to earn the Master Technician Award. Jeff Case, Travis Sims, Conrad Arambula, Eric Eisner, and Bryan Wahrmund are the other award winners.

Duncan Aviation completes first Pro Line/IDS in a Hawker 800

Duncan Aviation's Glass Box Project recently added the Pro Line/IDS solution for the Hawker 800 series. Pending certification, this first-ever project was completed at Duncan Aviation's Battle Creek, MI, location and includes four Collins Pro Line 21/IDS 8- x 10-inch active-matrix LCDs. The LCDs will be used as primary flight displays and multi-function displays. Final STC certification is expected soon.

AvFab earns EASA STC approval

AvFab has recently earned a Supplemental Type Certificate for its exclusive one- and two-place divan for the Citation 560 Encore from the European Aviation Safety Agency. AvFab manufactures a Citation Encore one-place divan and two types of Citation Encore two-place divans. The first two-place divan is designed to fit aircraft featuring the RH Forward Slimline galley directly behind the co-pilot, and a second, longer version of the divan for aircraft not featuring this galley configuration. Both versions feature a shoulder harness design that is mounted directly to the divan, so no side-wall modification is necessary.

U.S. Coast Guard joins Aviation Industry Expo

Cygnus Expositions will host the U.S. Coast Guard's Aeronautical Support Equipment Conference as part of the 10th Aviation Industry Expo, March 20-22 at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, FL.

More than 70 USCG representatives from all 26 USCG Air Stations, sponsored by USCG Aircraft Repair and Supply Center in Elizabeth City, NC, will be in attendance.

Derco signs agreement with Honeywell

Derco Aerospace Inc. has signed an enhanced five-year aftermarket distribution agreement with Honeywell, one of the world's largest military component providers, to distribute aviation spares and repairs for 60 countries. Under the agreement, Derco will distribute spares and repairs, including end items, new LRUs, accessories, and detail piece parts, for more than 20 Honeywell divisions, supporting all military fixed-wing aircraft worldwide.

Elliott Aviation receives EASA approval for RVSM in King Air

Elliott Aviation has earned certification from the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) to offer Elliott's King Air RVSM solution to European-registered aircraft. The EASA approval includes all King Air B200, 300 and 350 series aircraft with existing Collins APS-65/H/J, Honeywell/Sperry SPZ-4000, and Bendix/King KFC-400 autopilots. Elliott Aviation selected Revue Thommen's AD32 Air Data Display with Copilot Alerter for its quality, feature set, rapid product availability, and superb customer support.

EMTEQ receives FAA STC; EASA STC pending

EMTEQ has been granted FAA STC ST03367AT for a Dual Artex C406-N ELT (Emergency Locator Transmitter) installation on McDonnell-Douglas KC-10 aircraft. In addition, EASA approval is pending on EMTEQ's A300 STC for flight recorder system upgrade per FAR 121.344/129.20, as well as for ELS/EHS installations on Boeing 767-200/300 aircraft. ELS/EHS is mandated first in Germany, United Kingdom, and France for civil aircraft having a maximum take-off mass greater than 5,700 kg or a maximum cruising true airspeed in excess of 250 knots.

FAA certifies Little Rock Hawker facility

Raytheon Aircraft Company's (RAC) Hawker Completions facility in Little Rock, AR, has been certified as a Designated Alteration Station (DAS) by the FAA. During a special ceremony in Little Rock in December 2006, representatives from the FAA and RAC signed the Memorandum of Understanding and the DAS Operating Manual.

Hawker Completions can now act as an authorized representative of the FAA and can complete several phases of its completions and alterations processes, including issuing STCs, issuing experimental certificates for altered aircraft, and amending standard airworthiness certificates for such aircraft.

Kelly receives FAA-PMA approval

Kelly Aerospace Inc. has received FAA-PMA approval for the manufacturing of its E-Drive starter on Dec. 13, 2006. The E-Drive from Kelly Aerospace is a starter capable of providing maintenance-free service to your engine's TBO.

Michelin receives large military contract

The Defense Supply Center - Columbus, OH, (DSC-C) has awarded Michelin Aircraft Tire Co. LLC, the Tire Privatization Initiative contract for aircraft tires. This 10-year $700 million-plus contract (including options) is the largest single tire contract ever awarded in the history of the company. The contract includes the wholesale supply, storage, and distribution functions for all aircraft tires used by the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD). Michelin, along with its logistics partner Lockheed Martin MS2 in Moorestown, NJ, will assume responsibility for managing the supply and delivery of all U.S. Air Force and U.S. Army military aircraft tires across the globe in addition to its existing contract with the U.S. Navy.
