¦ United Airlines has appointed Pete McDonald as chief administrative officer and John Tague as chief operating officer. McDonald previously served as chief operating officer, and in his new position he will take on responsibility for corporate policy and strategy regarding customer and employee experience, technology, communications, safety and security. Tague will take on the role of chief operating officer, responsible for airport operations including cargo, maintenance and operational services, international and regulatory affairs; and planning, including scheduling and revenue management activities.

¦ DHL named Tony Shortell senior vice president for global customer solutions for the Singapore-based Asia-Pacific region. A 15-year company veteran, Shortell had been a regional senior vice president at DHL Global Forwarding for Asia-Pacific.

¦ Hydrogen Engine Center Inc. announced today that it has appointed Jan Rowinski, managing partner Bay Stream Ventures Inc., to the board of directors of HEC Canada with immediate effect.
