Maintenance facility opens

Comlux officially opened its own completion and maintenance facility located in Indianapolis. The large facility purchased a year and a half ago by the Comlux Group has been serving business aviation for nearly 40 years and has accumulated a wide experience in both cabin interiors and aircraft maintenance. In 2009, it was been completely renewed and modernized and offers the latest standard of equipment for outfitting and maintaining business jets at the highest standards. FlightSafety adds training center

FlightSafety plans to build a training center in Wichita, KS, to support the new MX Advantage maintenance training program developed in conjunction with Cessna. The 65,000-square-foot maintenance training center will be located adjacent to Cessna. Construction is scheduled to begin in 2010 and is expected to be completed by the end of 2011.

Expanded maintenance facility

Hawker Beechcraft Services recently completed the final phase of a $14 million project that added a second 26,000-square-foot hangar and expanded customer accommodations and administrative offices to the Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport (IWA) in Mesa, AZ. It was selected to serve as the company’s regional service center in the Southwest. The operation is expected to generate up to 110 new jobs over five years.

RAM offers loyalty rewards

RAM Aircraft announces Owner Loyalty Rewards for returning RAM customers with a Cessna 340, 340A, 414, 414A, 421C, or Baron 58P/TC with a RAM engine. RAM is offering owners an Owner Loyalty Reward of $2,500 discount off one engine orders and $5,000 off two engine orders. Cost assistance from StandardAero

StandardAero will provide its TPE331 customers’ unscheduled-maintenance cost assistance free of charge with every overhaul event. The program offers pro-rated cost assistance on unscheduled maintenance for a period of four years from the date of initial installation following overhaul by StandardAero. Mobile service

Lufthansa Technik’s has established a Mobile Aircraft and Cabin Services (MACS) team. MACS covers small but compulsory maintenance events as well as wear-and-tear problems in the aircraft cabin. The MACS team can also take care of small maintenance tasks and the implementation of certain unscheduled airworthiness directives (AD) and service bulletins (SB) as well as technical logbook items (TLB) and deferred defects (DD). Master Mechanic Award

Meridian, the Teterboro, NJ, based Private Aviation Services Company, announces John Bahrenburg, aircraft technician crew chief, has received the Charles Taylor “Master Mechanic” Award. John’s aviation career began when he joined the U.S. Air Force after he graduated high school. In the service John worked on single-engine jet fighters and while stationed in Japan he worked as a heavy maintenance technician. He earned his A&P license at Red Bank Air Taxi in Red Bank, NJ, after the military.

Summit Aviation expands

Summit Aviation will expand its Delaware operation with additional modification, maintenance, repair, and overhaul capabilities. The 78,000-square-foot expansion includes a 37,400-square-foot hangar that can accommodate eight Boeing CH-47 Chinook model aircraft or three Bell Boeing V-22 Osprey aircraft; a 9,200-square-foot paint facility; two cold storage units and an additional 11,400 square feet of support and office space. The expansion is expected to be complete in the second quarter of 2011.
