Publisher's Note: The New Cygnus Aviation

Dec. 2, 2010
To better serve the aviation industry

As we close out another year with a display of the latest and greatest products and services in this annual showcase issue, I would like to update you about a newly formed group dynamic: Cygnus AVIATION. This group dynamic is supported by our parent company, Cygnus Business Media, and formed of sister publications and events in aviation: Ground Support Worldwide, AIRPORT BUSINESS, Aircraft Maintenance Technology (AMT), AMTSociety, and the recently renamed Cygnus Aviation Expo (formerly Aviation Industry Expo).

This new dynamic will better help serve the aviation industry as a whole. With event and editorial coverage in several aspects of the industry you can be assured to get the latest news regarding airports, FBOs, ground support, security, and of course aircraft maintenance. If you have interest in any of these publications or events please be sure to check out www.cygnusaviation.com for more information.

A Hall of Fame welcome
I would like to give a big congratulations to Tom Hendershot on his induction into the Colorado Aviation Hall of Fame!! Stay tuned for more coverage of this special ceremony and a review of Tom’s many efforts to better serve you and the aircraft maintenance profession.

AMTSociety’s road show tour of training events is coming to a city near you, don’t miss the next stops in Houston, TX, on January 12; Atlanta, GA, on January 26; Tulsa, OK, on February 5; Phoenix, AZ, on February 9; and Kansas City, MO, on February 16. The last IA event in February 2011 will be at the Cygnus Aviation Expo held in Las Vegas, NV, on February 23-25. This can’t miss event will also be hosting the 4th annual Maintenance Skills Competition the same week.

Don’t forget each seminar meets the requirements contained in FAR 65.93(A)(4) for Inspection Authorization (IA) renewal training and is acceptable toward eight hours of training for IA renewal and the FAA AMT Awards Program.
