The end of the year is fast approaching. It feels like just last week we were at Aviation Industry Expo.
Here at the magazine, we have been making some big changes. First has been our new group dynamic, where we are bringing all the aviation entities under one umbrella as Cygnus AVIATION. This will include Ground Support Worldwide, AIRPORT BUSINESS magazine, Aircraft Maintenance Technology, AMTSociety, and the newly renamed Cygnus Aviation Expo (formerly Aviation Industry Expo). This new dynamic will allow us as a group to truly serve the aviation industry as a whole. Cygnus AVIATION covers several aspects of the industry, including airports, fixed based operators and ground support, to security and aircraft maintenance. We communicate the latest business issues and product opportunities through print, tradeshows, online, associations, and digital entities. Cygnus AVIATION is unique in that it fully engages a broad audience.
Another change taking place is for the Ground Support Leaders of the Year awards ceremony. The awards acknowledge excellence within the industry. It is an open nomination with the following categories: Team Leader, Safety Leader, Kaizen Leader, Engineer/Innovator Leader, Green Leader, and Lifetime Achievement Award. For the last couple of years, we have held the event as a cocktail reception. In 2011 we will be holding it as a luncheon. Everyone is welcome to attend, but tickets are limited. When registering to attend the Cygnus Aviation Expo for 2011, tickets can be purchased in advance. This is a great opportunity to network while acknowledging industry leaders, and get a great lunch without having to leave the convention center. The ceremony will be held on Thursday, Feb. 24, 2011, from 12:00 p.m. – 1:30 p.m.
