American Airlines nonstop flight is back after COVID-19 related hiatus.

Nonstop flights from Gainesville Regional Airport (GNV) to Miami International Airport (MIA) will resume Oct. 7 after a COVID-19-related hiatus.

“GNV is pleased to report daily MIA service is back in the October schedule, after a hiatus due to the coronavirus pandemic,” said Allan Penksa, CEO, Gainesville Alachua County Regional Airport Authority (GACRAA). “Our MIA nonstop is an easy and quick way to get to South Florida and beyond, including numerous international destinations. We are grateful to American Airlines for making the investment to re-establish the important connection as we continue on toward more regular operations at GNV, and we encourage our community to respond by Flying Easy from GNV as a great way to get there.”

The nonstop flight, operated by American Airlines, flies daily, with a 3:25 p.m. outbound flight from GNV, arriving MIA at 4:39 p.m. and a 1:45 p.m. inbound flight from MIA, arriving GNV at 2:55 p.m. Future enhancement will be dependent upon public response. Additional connecting flights to/from MIA are available on American Airlines seven days a week, via the hubs of Charlotte (CLT) or Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW), or on Delta Airlines, via Atlanta (ATL).
