Phillips 66 Aviation awarded $22,000 to longtime partner, Corporate Angel Network (CAN), during this year’s NBAA Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition (NBAA-BACE). CAN’s mission is to help cancer patients access the best treatment centers in the country by arranging free transportation on corporate aircraft. The organization does this by utilizing empty seats onboard business aircraft during routine business trips.

The donation is a part of Phillips 66 Aviation’s sponsorship of the Corporate Angel Award, a unique program that recognizes corporations and their flight departments that have demonstrated outstanding dedication as participants in CAN. The award recognizes four corporate flight departments each year. This year’s Corporate Angel Award recipients are Williams, FedEx, Pfizer, Inc. and NetJets. There are more than 500 major corporations that participate in CAN.

“I’m thrilled to present this check to Corporate Angel Network on behalf of Phillips 66 Aviation and to recognize the incredible corporations that help make CAN’s mission achievable,” said Lindsey Grant, manager, general aviation. "It really isn’t possible without these corporations, and we encourage others to join Corporate Angel Network. Whether you can provide one flight a year or 100, you could make an incredible impact on a cancer patient’s life.”

Phillips 66 has sponsored the Corporate Angel Award since 2010, donating more than $125,000 in order to honor and help provide the recognition that these outstanding CAN participants deserve. This year’s award is co-sponsored by Phillips 66 Aviation (lead sponsor), Safe Flight Instrument Corporation and Business & Commercial Aviation magazine.

“It is Corporate Angel Network’s mission to provide cancer patients access to the best treatment available for their specific diagnoses,” said Gina A. Russo, corporate angel network’s executive director. “And we can’t do that without the generosity of corporate flight departments and donations. It is truly an honor to recognize these outstanding companies and give a special ‘thank you’ to our sponsors including Phillips 66 Aviation, Safe Flight Instrument Corporation and Business & Commercial Aviation magazine."
