Great Falls International Airport Experiences Record Passenger Volumes

July 11, 2017

The Great Falls International Airport is currently experiencing record passenger volumes particularly on flights departing before 7 am.  Passengers should expect security lines of up to 45 minutes during morning flights.  The Airport advises all passengers to arrive at GTF 90 minutes to 2 hours before the scheduled flight time.

Alaska, Delta and United have added seats to every direct destination this summer.  The added seats create great new travel options; however, they also mean more passenger congestion.  The TSA checkpoint must process approximately 350 people each morning before 7 am.  We are seeing up to a dozen passengers missing their flight each morning because they did not arrive in time to complete screening.

The Airport Authority also reminds passengers that they must complete check-in for their flight 45 minutes prior to flight time or the airline may cancel your reservation.  This can be done electronically and up to 24 hours in advance on the airline’s website or using the airline’s app on a mobile device.
