Via Airlines to Launch Service at Memphis International Airport with Nonstop Flights to Austin, Pittsburgh
Via Airlines has announced it will launch service at Memphis International Airport (MEM) on June 25, with nonstop flights between MEM and Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS) and Pittsburgh International Airport (PIT).
Both flights will operate four times weekly on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday. The Memphis-Pittsburgh flight will also feature one-stop connectivity to Bradley International Airport in Windsor Heights, CT. Via will utilize a 50-seat Embraer-145 aircraft for its new service at MEM.
Via Airlines becomes the 10th passenger airline to offer service at MEM. Founded in 1997, Via Airlines is based in Maitland, Florida.
“The extensive airline recruitment work done by the entire team at Memphis International Airport continues to reap benefits,” said Pace Cooper, Chairman of the Memphis-Shelby County Airport Board of Commissioners. “We are delighted that VIA Airlines will be adding a new non-stop for Memphis to Pittsburgh, a soughtafter destination, and an additional new non-stop flight option to Austin, Texas.”
“Memphis is a great city and we’re excited to introduce nonstop service to and from Austin and Pittsburgh,” said Dominic Acevedo, Via Airlines’ Vice President of Flight Operations. “Nonstop service not only helps travelers move to and from these destinations faster and more economically than existing options, but also ensures the opportunity for our own steady growth and continued provision of reliable service for the Memphis market and beyond.”
