Wow Air Flights From Chicago Begin

On July 13, WOW air, has its inaugural flight from Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport (ORD) to Keflavík International Airport (KEF). Launched in November 2011, Iceland’s affordable transatlantic airline now connects 32 destinations across the U.S. and Europe with the Icelandic capital.

“We have been very happy with our growth in the United States over the past two years and are excited to start the routes to Chicago this summer,” Skúli Mogensen, founder and CEO of WOW air, said. “O’Hare International Airport has been a great partner in helping bring affordable European travel to the Midwest.”

As the third largest city in the United States, Chicago offers the nearly 50 million yearly visitors a city filled with world-class museums, exciting nightlife and some of the best restaurants in the country.

"WOW air’s low-cost fares on this route are great news for Chicago and will allow more travelers to make the tourism and cultural exchange between Chicago, Iceland, as well as Europe."

Flights from ORD to and from KEF will be available four times a week on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays and increasing up to six times a week during peak season in August. The Airbus A321 aircraft will service the route. Seat pitch will vary from 30 inches as standard to 34 inches at an additional charge.
