Air Serbia Expands Airberlin Codeshare

July 5, 2016

Air Serbia has expanded its codeshare deal with airberlin to provide travellers with one-stop flights between Belgrade and seven destinations in the United States.

The airline now places its JU flight code on eight weekly flights operated by airberlin between Düsseldorf and Los Angeles and five weekly flights between Düsseldorf and Fort Myers, in addition to codesharing on airberlin’s services to Chicago, Boston, New York, Miami and San Francisco.

Through this codeshare expansion, Air Serbia and airberlin now offer 54 weekly flights between Serbia and the United States over Germany.

Dane Kondić, chief executive officer of Air Serbia, said, “We are delighted to offer our guests convenient new travel options to LA, one of the entertainment capitals of the world and the home of Hollywood, and Fort Myers, a perfect gateway to exploring the attractions of Florida.

“Through our codeshare agreement with airberlin, Air Serbia’s route network now spans from the West to the East Coast, providing business and leisure travellers with easy one-stop connections to seven major points in the United States.”

The second-largest city in the United States after New York, Los Angeles is well-known for its balmy climate, rolling hills and huge film and music industry, having produced a number of famous acts including the Beach Boys, Guns N’ Roses and Red Hot Chili Peppers.

Fort Myers meanwhile is located in Southwest Florida and is well-positioned as a starting point for exploring the sunny state of Florida, offering great weather and a range of fun beach and water activities including dolphin watching.

The new codeshare routes complement the five-a-week Air Serbia service between Belgrade and New York which was launched on 23 June, reconnecting Serbia and the United States with a non-stop air link after a break of 24 years.
