A leisure carrier Small Planet Airlines announces it has appointed Kristijonas Kaikaris as the CEO of Small Planet Airlines. Prior to Small Planet Airlines Mr. Kaikaris built an extensive career as EPC Lead of Microsoft Kazakhstan, General Manager of Microsoft Lithuania, Country Manager of Oracle in Lithuania, President of Infobalt Association and Sales Director at IBM. Kristijonas Kaikaris will be replacing Vytautas Kaikaris, who is going to lead the Small Planet Group.
'Such rapid growth that we have experienced for the last few years requires strong people to support it. After adding dozens of new colleagues, new departments and new countries into our operations map in the last couple of years, the time has come to strengthen our Top Management team too', Vytautas Kaikaris, CEO of Small Planet Group said.
Holding company Small Planet Group, controlling airlines in Lithuania, Poland and Germany, was established in 2014. The major part of Group activities is concentrated in Lithuania, where the operations control, financial services, human resources management, customer service, IT and other functions are provided for all the group of companies.
Last year company's full year profit grew double for a second year in a row. It carried 1.8 million passengers and upgraded its fleet - 2016 summer fleet consists of 21 Airbus aircraft - seventeen A320 and four A321. Full year profit was EUR 19.2 million before tax, in comparison to EUR 8.2 million in 2014. Revenue grew by 27% from EUR 143.2 million in 2014 to EUR 182 million in 2015.
Small Planet Airlines is a leisure airline, which flies European (including Great Britain, Poland, Lithuania, Italy, and Germany) and Asian passengers. Operating 21 Airbus 320/321 aircraft, the company works with some of the biggest holiday operators around the world and carries passengers to Greece, Spain, Turkey, Bulgaria and other countries during the summer season. During the winter season it moves some of its aircraft to the Asian region. The airline also organizes special flights to fly national delegates, athletes as well as private individuals.
