LAS VEGAS -- Dallas Airmotive, a BBA Aviation company, is bringing its popular “Thrill of the Build” event to NBAA 2015 at the Las Vegas Convention Center. Launched at NBAA 2014, the Thrill of the Build events are designed to highlight Dallas Airmotive’s extensive MRO expertise and innovative capabilities. This year’s Thrill of the Build will demonstrate a unique mobile APU repair option Dallas Airmotive developed to support customers in the field. The event will take place five times during the show at booth N3505: 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday and Wednesday, and 11:00 a.m. on Thursday.

“Last year our Thrill of the Build event highlighted our expertise and in-shop capabilities with the PT6 turbine engine,” said Mark Stubbs, Dallas Airmotive’s Chief Commercial Officer. “This year we wanted to highlight the innovative capabilities our industry leading field service team brings to market. Specifically a mobile APU repair option designed to reach our customers where their planes are hangared.”

This year’s Thrill of the Build features a Honeywell GTCP 36-150W, an APU prevalent among B&GA aircraft. During the event, a Dallas Airmotive Field Service representative will utilize the company’s mobile APU repair system and components to replace the compressor carbon seal.

“Our mobile APU repair option significantly reduces downtime and associated costs,” Stubbs stated. “We pioneered this solution to be truly mobile. We can come to you in your hangar.” He went on to explain the advantages of on-site service, including:

- Quicker return to flight status

- No rental APU requirement

- Eliminate shipping costs and the attendant extra days of downtime

“Innovative solutions like this are part of the expanding capabilities in our global service and support network,” commented Stubbs.

Dallas Airmotive’s mobile APU solution is approved for all line item work scopes, including hot section inspection (HSI) and repair, anywhere in the United States and Mexico. Experts from Dallas Airmotive’s APU team will be available for questions during NBAA. Attendees can watch the action at booth N3505 and follow the action at #thrillofthebuild on social media.
