Dubai, November 16, 2013....Potomac Solutions, Inc., a U.S. company headquartered near Washington, DC, with core capabilities in platform and systems acquisition, modification and integration, 3rd party logistics and distribution, has entered into a multi-year relationship with Phoenix Heliparts out of Mesa, Arizona. The agreement will bring a range of aviation maintenance and repair organization (MRO) capabilities and technologies to the Middle East & North Africa (MENA) region.

Phoenix Heliparts, a world leader in MRO for MD 500, Bell UH-1, Bell 407, and AH-1 Cobra helicopters, is expanding its target area aggressively, to serve clients in the MENA region. In addition to its expertise in light to medium helicopters, the company is now involved and recognized in the fixed-wing market.

The company recently won contracts from the US State Department for major modification and upgrades for two Dash 8 turboprop aircraft, with further contracts anticipated from the international commercial and state markets. Under the agreement, Potomac Solutions would be involved in the conceptual designs, logistics support and aftermarket support of mission systems and Phoenix would provide the aircraft support.

Phoenix Heliparts president, Tina Cannon, believes the MENA market is currently underserved. “We have proven solutions for aircraft systems upgrades, integration, airframe repair and modification, and a well-earned reputation for getting the job done efficiently and effectively. We have recently expanded our capabilities to include a second facility, at Williams Gateway Airport in Mesa, to accommodate the demand for fixed-wing aircraft MRO.”

Since opening its doors in 2003, Phoenix Heliparts has served MD 500 customers worldwide, giving it a deep understanding of international operations, certification requirements and on-time deliveries.

“Our reputation is on the line every day of the year, so we have to be nimble, capable and thorough, always putting our customers first and foremost,’’ Cannon adds. “We’ll deliver parts in person if the aircraft on ground (AOG) situation presents itself.”

Phoenix Heliparts offers its Total Support Team’ to a worldwide helicopter and fixed- wing customer base to support a multitude of aircraft types, including the MD 500 series, Bell UH-1, Bell 407 and AH-1 Cobra helicopters, and fixed-wing aircraft such as the Bombardier Dash 8-315 aircraft that Phoenix Heliparts recently modified for the US State Department. The service includes offering a significant parts inventory for immediate shipment. Capabilities include engineering, avionics, interiors, sheet metal, AP & IA mechanics, field support, composites, STCs and component overhaul.

Phoenix Heliparts is capable of complete airframe and systems rejuvenation, structural modification, avionics, paint, interiors and certification and is an AS9110 certified MRO company. The company’s mission is to grow and develop this expertise in the MENA region, adding its fixed-wing capabilities to the mix.

“It’s expansion by design,” Cannon says. “It works well in all regions, and we will make it work in the Middle East and North Africa.”
