2023 AMT 40 Under 40 Maintenance Professional: Bradley E. Campbell — Lead Technician, AWS CWI #15081051, StandardAero

Aug. 10, 2023

Bradley Campbell is a welder – certified by the American Welding Society as a Certified Welding Inspector in 2015 – and launched into the career path straight out of high school. He wound up in aviation and working for StandardAero following the advice from a friend.

Starting out as a bench technician, Campbell worked his way up through the company. After a few months on the job, he found himself being handed the reigns of the welding shop.

“I had about six, eight months of worth of training and there we go. I took the reins and started running our welding shop and our welding program here at StandardAero in the rework side of things,” he said.

In his time with StandardAero, Campbell has won awards from Rolls-Royce for the work his shop does.

A few years ago, Campbell was promoted to lead technician in his group.

“I'm kind of like the second hand to our production manager,” Campbell described. “I see a lot of the day-to-day rework cycle to rework stuff from a production standpoint. We do production meetings and try to keep everything on track to allow us to keep building the engines and do the things that we need to do.”

Although it’s not part of his daily work, he said his passion will always be in welding.

“I really enjoy it and I've tried to stay connected in our local welding community,” he continued.

Campbell also promotes interest in welding and does outreach to his local high school and colleges.

“I've tried to stay engaged with the younger generation as far as that goes. Some of the local community colleges, I've went and spoke to some of those kids and just trying to be an integral part of the industry and of the things that are within our local community,” he said.
