Northern Pacific Airways Selects JDA for Adding Boeing 757-200 to Operations Specification

BETHESDA, MD - JDA Aviation Technology Solutions (JDA) announced today that Alaskan-based, Northern Pacific Airways, a subsidiary of FLOAT Alaska LLC, contracted JDA to support the addition of the Boeing 757-200 to the Ravn Alaska Part 121 Operations Specification (OpSpecs).Northern Pacific Airways plans to provide passenger flights using the Boeing 757-200 aircraft between Asia and the United States via Anchorage, Alaska.

“RAVN Alaska operates DHC-8 aircraft under Part 121. The addition of the Boeing 757-200 per FAA regulations is a major change. RAVN needed a qualified FAA certification consultant to help us through regulatory requirements, prepare a new manual system, and assist through the FAA formal application, design and performance phases,” explained Rob McKinney, CEO of FLOAT Alaska LLC and its subsidiaries--RAVN Alaska, and Northern Pacific Airways.

“After careful review, JDA was selected due to its vast FAA experience and ability to support our program immediately. The process has already been initiated and Northern Pacific plans to meet the anticipated launch date with JDA’s help,” said McKinney.

“JDA’s former career FAA and air carrier operations, airworthiness, cabin safety, dispatch and SMS experts have comprehensive knowledge and experience in the FAA Part 121 regulations and requirements for adding a new aircraft to an operating certificate,” said Joe Del Balzo, JDA president and CEO.

“JDA team members provide SMS and SAS instruction to FAA aviation safety inspectors at the FAA Academy. The JDA team, along with the support of Northern Pacific Airways’ dedicated project team, will complete the major change process just like the FAA The process will ensure that the new manual system is quickly approved and the design and performance phases are completed to meet the Northern Pacific Airways’ IOC date,” said Del Balzo.
