Winners for Aerospace Maintenance Competition Announced During MRO Americas in Dallas

The winner of the William “Bill” F. O’Brien Award for Excellence in Aircraft Maintenance was awarded to Alaska Airlines Team Seattle for the fastest cumulative time throughout the two-day competition.
NEW YORK (April 8, 2016) – Highlighting the demand for trained engineers, mechanics and technicians in the aerospace field, the Aerospace Maintenance Competition (AMC) was co-located this week in Dallas at MRO Americas Conference and Exhibition, produced by Penton's Aviation Week Network
Fifty-one U.S. and international teams representing schools, commercial aircraft, military, general aviation and MRO/OEMs competed in 25 timed events.  The worldwide competition helped to raise awareness for the many opportunities in the aerospace field to help train and inspire tomorrow’s aerospace maintenance leaders.
The AMC is open each year to engineers, technicians and students throughout the aircraft maintenance community.  The competition tested the competitors’ skills in timed events that highlight the responsibilities required to repair and maintain today's aircraft and spacecraft. The AMC helps to advance and promote the knowledge, skill and integrity that serve as the foundation for today's highly skilled aerospace maintenance professionals.

    The winner of the William “Bill” F. O’Brien Award for Excellence in Aircraft Maintenance was awarded to Alaska Airlines Team Seattle for the fastest cumulative time throughout the two-day competition. 
    The competition helps to support students and professionals further their careers.  AMC is held in association with Snap-on, with American Airlinesserving as the Airline Platinum Sponsor.  American Airlines flew in students throughout the country who would otherwise be unable travel for the competition.  Gold Sponsors for the AMC are Ranger AerospaceInTech AerospaceEmbraer, and Machida.
