Indy Airport’s Supplier Diversity Director Joins Civil Rights Board

Holli Harrington, director of supplier diversity at the Indianapolis Airport Authority and recognized community advocate and business leader in Indianapolis, has been named to the Indiana Civil Rights Commission.

Harrington, who was appointed to the commission by Governor Eric Holcomb, joined the IAA as its supplier diversity director in 2013, prior to serving 20 years of her career with Eli Lilly and Company. In her role, Harrington is responsible for providing enterprise-wide opportunities for disadvantaged, diverse, and small businesses and airport concession disadvantaged businesses – at both the Indianapolis International Airport (IND) and the IAA’s general aviation airports across Indiana.

“Holli has a long history of tirelessly and successfully working on equity issues,” said Mario Rodriguez, executive director of the IAA. “Some of the best organizations in Indiana – including the best airport in North America and one of the top pharmaceutical companies in the world – have benefited from Holli’s passion to connect people to possibilities. The Civil Rights Commission will be fortunate to have Holli’s knowledge and dedication to help them in ensuring equality for all Hoosiers.”

Over the years, Harrington has received multiple honors for her commitment to diversity in business, including the 2016 State of Indiana Supplier Diversity Champion. at the helm of the airport’s supplier diversity program, the Indy airport has also received the 2017 Airport Minority Advisory Council Top Flight award, 2017 Indy Black Chamber of Commerce Corporation of the Year, 2017 City of Indianapolis Mayor’s “Best of the Best” Diversity award, 2016 Airports Council International Inclusion Champion and the 2016 City of Indianapolis Mayor’s Leadership in Diversity award. Harrington also volunteers with the United Way of Indianapolis Diversity Committee and the United Negro College Fund Masked Ball Planning Committee.

Harrington currently serves on the Mid-States Minority Supplier Development Council, the City of Indianapolis Information Services Agency Technology board, and is the vice chair of the Minority Engineering Program of Indianapolis board – which she has been involved with for more than 20 years.

In her role with the state’s seven-member commission body, Harrington will help provide oversight and counsel to the Indiana Civil Rights Commission agency that enforces Indiana civil-rights laws and provides education and services to the public in an effort to ensure equal opportunity for all Hoosiers and visitors to the State of Indiana.
Harrington’s term with the ICRC will expire on March 31, 2019.

Harrington holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Howard University.
