For Andrea Levitt Kvech, aviation wasn’t something she was focused on for a career, but one fateful vacation changed her life.

In 2010, Kvech was living in Pennsylvania and went to Pensacola, Fla., on vacation and fell in love with the area. After going back home and toughing it through two blizzards, she decided it was time to move to Pensacola where she ended up getting a position with Pensacola International Airport (PNS).

“Every day is different,” she said. “There’s something different that pops up. There’s a new project, there’s a new grant. Every day is just different.”

As assistant director-finance for the airport, Kvech has increased airport revenues by thousands of dollars annually. When she started at PNS, Kvech noted a lack of accurate billing protocols with the various tenant airlines and instituted a program of checks and balances in order to ensure the highest accuracy in airport billing.

Working across airport divisions, she established a collaborative approach to acquire the necessary data to ensure proper billing and tracking to ultimately be compared to established data streams.

She is a military veteran having served as a Navy/Marine Corps Combat Corpsman. After her service she sought out additional educational opportunities culminating in her achievement of a MBA degree.

Kvech served two years as the vice chairperson for the Continuing Florida’s Aviation Planning Process (CFASPP) for all of Northwest Florida. She was unanimously voted by a panel of peers to serve as the Northwest Florida chairperson where she now resides, staunchly advocating for Florida’s aviation community.

Kvech continues to excel in the financial community as a member of the Florida Government Financial Officers Association (FGFOA) where she is now actively seeking her certification as a Government Financial Officer.
